People co-create concepts through open content systems such as Wikis – these web applications have led to fascinating examples of collective intelligence. Wikipedia has inspired many organizations to create their own versions or copycats. This is the case of Energypedia, a project of German development agency GIZ that combines local and global knowledge to collect experiences and best practices in water and sanitation issues. Another more interesting example, which not only draws upon the Internet but also goes beyond it, is Open Source Car ( Complete car construction plans are openly and freely available on this website. Construction material is also freely available to a global community of car developers.
